After talking with my family, friends and political leaders, I've decided to run for State Representative in the 82nd District.
Missourians desperately need the pro-business, pro-family reforms that will come about in the Missouri General Assembly if responsible leaders are elected.
I’ve already gained the support of many elected Republican officeholders and community leaders throughout the area as a result of my work on the Frontenac Board of Aldermen and my business experience. I'm proud that in both arenas I've earned a reputation of independence, for getting things done, and winning the tough fights.
I know how much work remains to be done. Important issues that impact each and every Missourian are going to be on the table in 2009, including:
Eminent Domain – Do local governments have the right to seize your property simply to increase tax revenue generated by that property?
St. Louis County Property Taxes – What role will our state government play in this critical issue of unfair taxation?
St. Louis’ Decay – Our airport is a national embarrassment, and new corporations see little reason to relocate here. But St. Louis has many positive qualities that must be enhanced and marketed to draw people to the area.
I'm confident that I can best represent your views in the Missouri General Assembly. I know that this job isn’t about getting elected or even passing legislation. It’s about helping Missourians and providing job opportunities so our families can thrive and our children can grow up safely and securely.
